Holiday Hours can be applied two different ways:
1. Option 1: They can be applied to the day where the majority of the hours are attached to.
2. Option 2: They can be applied to the day of the punch-in day.
This is controlled in Labor Management's Settings / Enterprise Wide Settings in the Holiday Shift Attribution.
If Option 1 is selected, for example, if January 1st, 2021 is considered a holiday, the Night Audit shift that starts on 12/31/2020 and ends on 1/1/2021 would receive holiday pay, since 7 of the 8 hours are worked on the actual holiday.
Another example, is if the Holiday is set to 12/25, the shift where the user clocks in on 12/24 will receive the Holiday hours, as the majority of their shift is on the actual holiday - 12/25. The overnight shift where the user clocks in on 12/25, and out on 12/26, would not receive holiday hours, as the majority of their hours are on 12/26/2020, which is not the set holiday.
If Option 2 is selected, for example, if January 1st, 2021 is considered a holiday, the Night Audit shift that starts on 1/1/2021 and ends on 1/2/2021 would receive holiday pay, since the physical punch-in was done on the night of January 1st. The shift that punches in on 12/31/2020, but clocks out on 1/1/2021, will not receive holiday pay.
Another example, is if the Holiday is set to 12/25, the shift where the user clocks in on 12/25 will receive the Holiday hours, as their punch-in was completed on the actual holiday. The overnight shift where the user clocks in on 12/24, and out on 12/25, would not receive holiday hours, as the majority of their hours are on 12/26/2020, which is not the set holiday.
