Business Intelligence Reporting: Saving a Workspace and Running It Again

Modified on Thu, 15 Oct at 2:53 PM

Save a Workspace to keep the reports you opened and how you set them up. Next period, open it from the Saved tab and change the date range. You don't need to rebuild your report package.

Prerequisites

  • A Workspace with at least one report open.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Name the Workspace

Select the pencil icon next to the Workspace name at the top left. Enter a name you'll recognize, such as "Month-End Close Package."

Step 2: Save

Select the green save icon next to the name. The Workspace saves its reports, date range, properties and report options.

Step 3: Open a Saved Workspace

  1. Navigate to Business Intelligence > Reporting.
  1. Select the Saved tab.
  1. Select the Workspace to open it.

Step 4: Run It for a New Period

Change the date range in the Workspace header, and the reports run for the new period. To keep the new dates, select save again.

NOTE: A saved Workspace stores your setup, not a copy of the numbers. Each time you open it, the reports show current data.

Summary

  • Rename with the pencil icon and save with the save icon.
  • Open saved Workspaces from the Saved tab.
  • Change the date range to run the same package for a new period.
