FOSSE: Mapping MBV Redemptions to Import in Segmentation

Properties on the FOSSE property management system (PMS – the front-desk system that records guest stays and revenue) have historically seen a variance in Segmentation whenever a guest paid with points. Segmentation is the breakdown of room revenue and room nights by rate code. Because the FOSSE Daily Segmentation Report does not reflect point stays, no value was imported into the Segmentation section of Daily Activity for those stays.

To correct this, you can map the Marriott Bonvoy (MBV) Redemption rate code so it imports the dollar amount shown on the Daily Closing Report. Once mapped, the redemption amount imports automatically for all future dates.

1. Locate the charge code identifier for MBV Redemptions on the Daily Closing Report. In the example below, the identifier is XF.

2. Navigate to Accounting, then Rate Code Mapping. Locate the rate code associated with MBV Redemptions for your property and click it to open the Rate Code Details. In the example below, this is 25MRYC.

3. Select the checkbox beside Redemption Code. This flags the rate code as related to redemption charges.

4. In the dropdown that appears, select the charge code identifier you located in Step 1 (for example, XF). Click Save.

5. Navigate to Accounting, then Daily Activity Entry, and select Re-Import to test the update. In the Segmentation section, confirm the MBV Redemption amount imported successfully.

For all future dates, the amount shown on the Daily Closing Report for the XF - MBV Redemption charge imports into the Segmentation section for the rate code you mapped above.

Note: If this is a new code to be mapped in Daily Activity 2.0, this can be completed directly from the Codes tab.
