This guide shows administrators how to grant bookkeeping flagging permissions to a role. These permissions control who can flag transactions for review, review flagged transactions, and access the Communications Inbox. They are available only to properties with an active Bookkeeping Services subscription.
A flagged transaction is an entry that a user has marked as needing additional review or information. Bookkeeping flagging is the Bookkeeping Services feature used to mark, track, and resolve those transactions.
Before you start, confirm the following:
The property has an active Bookkeeping Services subscription – these permissions do not appear without one.
You are an administrator. Administrators have all permissions by default and can assign or modify them for other roles.
Open Roles and Permissions
1. Log in to Inn-Flow.
2. In the left navigation, open Administration, then select Roles and Permissions.
3. Select a role in the left panel, then select Permissions in the right panel.
4. Scroll down to the Bookkeeping Services section, located directly below the All section.
Review the Available Permissions
Expand the Bookkeeping Services header. Two permissions are available:
• Can Flag/Complete – Lets users mark transactions that need further review or information, and then mark those flagged transactions as completed once no further action is needed.
• Can Review – Lets users make changes to flagged transactions and set the status to Reviewed once corrections have been made.
Assign and Save Permissions
1. With the role selected, check Can Flag/Complete and/or Can Review to assign those permissions.
2. Click Save at the bottom of the page to apply the changes.
3. To confirm, return to the roles list, reopen the role, and expand the Bookkeeping Services section to verify the permissions are applied.
If a role has Bookkeeping Services but both permissions are unchecked, those users cannot access the Communications Inbox and will not see its icon in the left navigation. They will still see the flagged-transaction banner at the top of a transaction if one has been flagged.
