"Moving" a payment in Inn-Flow means reassigning it from one bank account (or entity) to another. This is useful when a payment was accidentally posted to the wrong account, for example, a payment that should have gone to your operating account was posted to your reserve account.
Requirements
A payment can only be moved if all of the following are true:
The accounting period for the transaction date is still Active (not closed).
The transaction is unreconciled (has not been matched during bank reconciliation).
The payment method is not a Check or ePay payment. Check and ePay payments cannot be moved because they are tied to specific payment processing records.
How to move a payment
Go to Accounting > Search and locate the transaction. Click on it to open the details.
Click on the Associated Payments section to expand it.
Click the triple-dot menu next to the payment and select Move.
In the Move dialog, select the HID (hotel/entity) and the Account you want to move the payment to.
Click Move to confirm.
The payment will be removed from the original account's register and appear in the new account's register under the same transaction date.
Note: If the Move option is grayed out or not available, check that the accounting period is still open and the transaction has not been reconciled. If the payment was made via Check or ePay, it cannot be moved. In that case, you would need to void the payment and re-enter it on the correct account.
