How do I enter a check that was written manually?

A manual check is any check written by hand or outside of Inn-Flow's AP module. Since it was not printed through Payments, Inn-Flow does not have a record of it. You need to enter it as a Withdrawal on the Register page so it appears in your bank reconciliation.

Enter the Manual Check

  1. Navigate to the Register page for the bank account the check was written from.

  2. Click Add Transaction > Withdrawal.

  3. Enter the transaction details: Vendor, Amount, Accounting Period, and Transaction Date.

  4. In the COA section, select the appropriate chart of accounts code(s) for the expense.

  5. In the Notes field, enter "Manual Check #____" with the actual check number. This is important for matching the transaction during bank reconciliation.

  6. Save the withdrawal.

IF PRO TIP: Always include the check number in the Notes field. When this transaction appears in Bank Sync, the note makes it easy to match to the correct bank feed entry.

Manual checks entered as withdrawals will appear in Bank Sync for reconciliation just like any other register transaction. They will display with the transaction type associated with the withdrawal method.
