How do I search for transactions in a Bank or Credit Card Account?

There are three ways to search for transactions within a specific bank or credit card account. Each method is suited for different needs – quick lookups, detailed GL review, or filtered searching with export.

Option 1: Filter Transactions in the Register

Best for quick lookups of specific transactions within a single account.

  1. Go to the Register tab and select the bank or credit card account you want to search.

  2. Use the Filter Transactions box on the top left to search by Vendor, COA # or Name, or Amount.

  3. Adjust the Date Range to narrow results if needed.

Option 2: Run the General Ledger Report

Best for reviewing all activity in a specific COA or range of accounts over a time period.

  1. Go to Reports and select the General Ledger Report.

  2. Select a specific chart of account, a range of accounts, or all accounts.

  3. Set your date range and run the report.

Option 3: Use the Accounting Search Page

Best for advanced filtered searching across transactions with the ability to export results.

  1. Go to Accounting > Search.

  2. Search by COA and select the COA associated with the bank or credit card account you want to review.

  3. Add additional filters (date range, vendor, amount) to narrow your results.

  4. Once results are populated, click Export to download the search results.
