How to update an Adjustment entry?

An adjustment entry is a manual addition or correction made during reconciliation. For example, if a bank deposit includes a commission or fee that wasn't recorded in Inn-Flow, you would add an adjustment to account for the difference. If an adjustment was entered with the wrong amount or COA, you can update or delete it using the steps below.

Important: You can only edit an adjustment if the reconciliation for that accounting period has not been completed. If the period is marked Complete, you will need to reopen the reconciliation first.

Steps to Update or Delete an Adjustment

  1. Navigate to Accounting > Register.

  2. Select the Bank Account from the dropdown at the top.

  3. Click Reconcile.

  4. Select the Accounting Period where the adjustment was made.

  5. Click on the deposit or withdrawal section where the adjustment exists (e.g., Visa/MC, Cash & Checks, Other Deposits, etc.).

  6. Find the adjustment entry in the transaction list. Uncheck its checkbox and click Save. This removes it from the reconciled state so it can be edited.

  7. Click the Adj button next to the entry to open it.

  8. Make your changes:

– Update the COA if it was coded to the wrong account.

– Update the Amount if the figure was incorrect.

– Click Delete if the adjustment should be removed entirely.

9. Click Save.

10. Re-check the entry's checkbox to include it in the reconciliation again, then Save.
