What is a One-Time Passcode (OTP)?

A One-Time Passcode (OTP) is a 6-digit code sent to your phone or email as part of two-factor authentication. It adds an extra layer of security by combining something you know (your password) with something you have (your mobile phone or email).

When is an OTP required?

Inn-Flow requires an OTP when you access sensitive areas of the platform, including:

  • Payments (printing checks)

  • Digital Payments

When you open one of these areas, Inn-Flow sends a unique 6-digit code to your phone via text message (or to your email). You enter that code into Inn-Flow to continue.

Make sure your phone number is on file

Important: You must have a valid mobile phone number or email address saved in your user profile to receive OTP codes. Without this, you will not be able to complete these payments.

To add or update your phone number, have an administrator go to Administration > Users, select the user's profile, and enter the mobile phone number in the Phone field.

Trouble receiving your OTP?

If you are not receiving OTP codes, check the following:

  • Confirm the phone number in your user profile is correct and can receive text messages.

  • Check your email inbox (and spam folder) if OTP is set to be delivered by email.

  • Make sure your phone is not blocking messages from unknown numbers.

If the issue continues, contact Inn-Flow Support for help.

Google Authenticator for OTP

If you're experiencing issues or delay in receiving the OTP, you can setup the Google Authenticator to enter that code, which is another secure method of authentication.
