Housekeeping

The Housekeeping tab is your centralized place to view, edit, and approve housekeeping activity in detail. Use it to confirm how many rooms each housekeeper cleaned, reconcile rooms cleaned against rooms occupied, and approve the day so labor can flow through to payroll.

The Housekeeping page pulls its data from two places: the Labor Overview page (from Room Assignments or Housekeeping Approvals) and the Daily Activity / Statistics section in the Accounting module for the previous day.

Housekeeping Assignments

When you open the Housekeeping tab, it opens the Housekeeping Assignments homepage. In the upper-left corner you will see the current date and, by default, the past week's activity.

To view a different date or time frame, update the drop-down menu at the top of the page.

You can also filter the view by Status.

The Rooms Occupied figure pulls from the Accounting module (Daily Activity) for the previous day. For example, on Wednesday, April 28th you are cleaning the rooms that were occupied on Tuesday, April 27th.

Enter Rooms Cleaned by Employee

Click on a date to expand it for more detail.

This shows every employee who was scheduled as a Housekeeper for that day.

Below the date and Rooms Occupied, you will see the list of housekeeping employees scheduled for that date. Click each employee's name and enter the number of rooms of each type they completed. The details for that date appear to the right of the employee, and the Total Time column shows the budgeted time. When you are finished, select Continue to move to the next page.

Reconcile and Explain Differences

The next page shows the Total Occupied (from Daily Activity in Accounting), then subtracts the Total Denied and Cleaned to give the difference between rooms cleaned and rooms occupied. If there is a difference, an explanation is required.

Once you enter an explanation, select Submit to continue to the next step.

For any housekeeper whose Actual Time was higher than the Budget, an explanation is also required.

Once entered, select Submit.

Continue with any remaining explanations.

Once all explanations are complete, the day will show as Approved.
