Where Do I Purchase Blank Check Stock?

You can purchase blank check stock from any office supply retailer or online. Inn-Flow requires blank, 3-part check stock with the check positioned on the bottom section – you cannot use pre-printed checks, because your Inn-Flow site prints all of the check information onto the blank stock. Recommended vendors, envelope options, and printer guidance are below.

Check Stock Requirements

• Blank, 3-part check stock

• Section heights: top = 4", middle = 3.5", bottom = 3.5"

• The check must be on the bottom section of the stock

• Perforations at 4" and 7 1/2" from the top

• No pre-printed checks – all check information is printed by your Inn-Flow site

Recommended Check Stock Vendors

• Costco (Harland Clarke): https://www.costcochecks.com – search for "Blank Laser Check Bottom (No Sig)"

• Nelco: https://www.nelcosolutions.com – browse Shop, then Business Checks, then Blank Bottom Checks. Inn-Flow will not appear as a preset filter, so use the Check Stock Requirements above.

• Amazon: search for "NextDayLabels Blank Check Stock for Laser/Ink-Jet, 8-1/2 x 11 24# lb, Red-Blue Prismatic Bottom"

Envelopes

• #8 double-window envelope – use if you plan to keep the top stub of the check. Recommended: Nelco #8 Envelopes, reference E9150014.

• #10 double-window envelope – use if you plan to send the entire check including the stub. Recommended: Nelco #10 Envelopes, reference 80750.

Choose a Printer

Dedicate a new or existing printer for check printing. Inn-Flow does not recommend HP OfficeJet printers, which require custom configuration to print checks properly – any other inkjet or laser printer works well. Following standard banking practice, Inn-Flow also recommends using magnetic ink cartridges, available from any office supply store or online. Note: not using magnetic ink will not prevent checks from printing or being cashed – it is only a recommendation.

Print a Sample Check to Confirm Settings

Because print settings can distort a check image, dedicate specific computers and printers for check printing and test each one before your first live run. In Accounting, open Register, select the account, click the 3-dot menu, choose Edit Account, and click Print Sample Check. Print a sample from each bank account. Set the page size to "auto" or "letter" and scaling to "none" or "100%". Confirm that all check details print in the correct position – most importantly, that the routing and account numbers appear along the bottom of the check.
